This tutorial teaches you how to print documents, excel files, pictures, or any other type of file that you wish to have it on print.

Please note that this guide should work for most ChromeOS running devices such as Google Pixelbook, ASUS Chromebooks, Samsung Chromebook Plus and Pro models, Acer Chromebooks, Chromeboxes, and tons of other older ChromeOS laptop-tablet hybrid devices.

If your device runs ChromeOS, then this guide should work in one or another for you.

For this guide to work your printer should be “Cloud Ready”. Go to Google’s Cloud-ready printers here in order to verify that your printer machine is supported. If the printer is not Cloud Ready, then you need to check the second guide.

Now, if the printer you own is Cloud Ready, then you can get to the next part of this post.

Here’s how to print files using ChromeOS and a Cloud Ready printer:

  1. Open Chrome browser.
  2. Type chrome://devices in the address bar.
  3. Click Register option. It should be under New Devices section.
  4. Google Cloud Print should load and you need to add the device in order to register it for printing capabilities.
  5. From now on every time you click the PRINT button/ icon on ChromeOS you will trigger the process automatically.

In case your device is not Cloud Ready, but is supports Wi-Fi connections, then you have to follow the following step:

  1. Open Chrome on another PC running Windows or Mac OS OS.
  2. Type chrome://devices in the address bar.
  3. Click Add Printer under the Classic Printers section.
  4. Check the box next to the printer you wish to add.
  5. Click Add Printer and you should be done.

In case you do not wish to use the Cloud Print app, then you will have to follow the following guidelines in order to add a new local printer:

  1. Open the Chromebook Settings screen.
Click your account picture on the taskbar, then click on the Settings gear.
  2. Scroll down and find the Advanced section.
  3. Go to the Printers section, and click the Add Printer option.
  4. Set a name for your printing machine and enter the IP address.
  5. Click Add
