We’re happy to announce that two of our favorite mobile apps will be joining Google Cast and Chromecast during this week. The apps we’re talking about are Solid Explorer (the file manager mobile app) and Pocket Casts, which in our opinion, needs no further introduction.
About the web version of Pocket Casts
We simply love this app, and the fact that they are releasing their first web version since they have landed the app stores is a huge improvement. They announced the Chromecast support through some funny change logs, in which they told users that they can always be stars, and now their favorite episodes can shine just as much with the new release, or when the stunt double does all the hard work they can sit back and sort out their favorite podcasts. Such a refreshing point of view, we might add.
About the web version of Solid Explorer
From the video that presented the new web version of Solid Explorer, we also found out that they’re bringing new Material Design along with the support for Chromecast that it now provides.
In order to install the plugin for Chromecast you’ll need a Chromecast configured device, the Chromecast app, the Solid Explorer file manager, and of course, some media files to cast. You should also know that the full version of Solid Explorer doesn’t come for free, but you can have the 14 days trial version if you want to see how it works. The installation is piece of cake, all you have to do is to download and install the plugin from Google Play, accept the terms and conditions, then allow the installation to follow its course.
So, if you enjoyed using it as a mobile app, you should definitely give it a try in its web version for Chromecast. We sure will!
