The Samsung Chromebook Pro is one of the most expected Chromebooks right now and we finally have some official information about it. In this article we will let you know everything you need to know about it: pricing, specifications and the release date.

Samsung’s newest Chromebook, the Samsung Chromebook Pro, finally got an official release date and pricing. We’ve known its specs for a while, as Samsung released them a few months ago. It comes with a 1Ghz Intel Core M3 processor (which can go to up to 2.2Ghz), an Intel HD Graphics 515 GPU, 4GB of DDR3, a 12.3-inch QHD 2400×1600 pixels LED display, 32GB eMMC internal storage, two USB-C ports, 802.11ac 2×2 WiFi, and a 720p HD webcam.

The Samsung Chromebook Pro’s display is touchscreen, being a convertible Chromebook. This means you can also use it as a tablet and it even comes with a stylus. It weights 2.38 pounds (1.08kg), and measures 11.06 x 8.72 x 0.51 inches. It’s one of the lightest devices of its kind and size, weighting just over 1kg. It’s built entirely out of aluminium, making it look really nice and premium.

Unfortunately it comes with a 3:2 aspect ratio, instead of the usual 16:9 or 21:9 wide displays. This might feel very weird for some and it’s definitely bad for watching movies or videos, but it’s great for web browsing, as websites are usually taller, rather than wider. While you may not like it at first, you will definitely find browsing the web better in this format.

It’s going to be priced at $549 with the above specifications, though it may come in more flavors, once officially released.

We also have an official release date for the Samsung Chromebook Pro now. The company announced that it will be released on May 28th, which is about a week away.
