New times are coming for all the Chromebook owners, as Hisense and Haier launched their Chromebook devices with amazingly small prices, which start at $149.

Chromebooks devices from Hisense and Haier

Apparently, Hisense and Haier have succeeded to reach this price range using a Rockchip RK3288 processor for the Chromebooks that have just been launched on the market.

More about the Hisense Chromebook

Just like the one developed by Haier, the Hisense Chromebook sports an 11 inch screen and it is powered by a Rockchip RK3288  processor while the whole pack is also $149.

Here are the specifications of the Hisense Chromebook?

  • Rockchip RK3288 Cortex A17 Quad-Core Processor, 2.50 GHz Speed
  • Life battery: up to 8 hours and half
  • Display: HD Display 11.6 inch, LED Backlight, 1366 x 768 Resolution
  • RAM: 2 GB
  • Memory: 16 GB
  • Card Reader: Micro-SD Card

At the moment, the Hisense Chromebook can be bought from Walmart.

As a comparison, you can easily see that the two are pretty similar; rocking nearly the same specs, they have the same screen resolution and SSD size and 2 GB of RAM memory. And yes, there’s a difference between the processors; while the Haier Chromebook comes with 1.8 Ghz processor speed, the Hisense’s processor sports 2.50 GHz. Of course, considering that the Hisense Chromebook comes with a faster processor, the battery will also last less than the Haier’s (8.5 hours versus 10h battery life).

Aside from these lists of specs we couldn’t tell exactly which one would be a better choice, but it probably depends on what your needs are; so, if you need your battery to last longer, you should probably go for the Haier Chromebook, but if you know that you need a powerful tool, pick the Hisense Chromebook.

However, considering that the price is smaller than the price of almost any tablet on the market, it wouldn’t be such a financial hassle to try them both if you like to be sure you made the best choice.
