Best Chromebooks in May 2017

  • News

There have been some new Chromebooks released lately and we decided to make a top for the ones we think are the best, considering the price-quality ratio. We have picked only 6 Chromebooks, produced by Samsung, Acer, ASUS, and Lenovo and we will tell you a bit about each one below.

The top includes Chromebooks ranging from around $200 to a really nice $442 Samsung Chromebook Plus (at the time of writing).

Samsung Chromebook Plus Convertible

I think the best Chromebook available for buying right now is the Samsung Chromebook Plus. You can use it as both a Chromebook and as a table, as it’s convertible and it comes with a touchscreen display. It has great specs for a Chromebook, which will allow you to browse the web and use apps without any lag.

The Samsung Chromebook Plus comes with a 12.3″ touchscreen display with a resolution of 2400×1600, which makes it one of the best displays on a Chromebook. Also considering it’s a Samsung, which is one of the best producer of displays, it’s just amazing.

It also features 4GB of DDR3, a 32GB SSD, and a hexa-core Samsung OP1 processor. Its battery has a lifetime of up to 10 hours of use, which is on par with most Chromebooks.

I believe this is the best chromebook this month. You can get it from Amazon for $442.

Asus Chromebook Flip C302

The Asus Chromebook Flip C302 is pretty similar to the Samsung presented above, but it comes with slightly different specs and a higher price. It sports a 12.5″ Full HD touchscreen display, being also convertible, so you can use it either as a Chromebook or a tablet.

It features a 64GB SSD, 4GB of DDR3, and a dual-core Intel Core M3 processor. The battery life is the same as the Samsung, holding up to 10 hours.

The Asus Chromebook Flip C302 can be found on Amazon for $499.

Acer Chromebook R13 Convertible

The Acer Chromebook R13 Convertible is also one of the best Chromebooks available right now. It features a 13.3″ Full HD touchscreen display, a MediaTek MT8173C processor, 32GB of internal storage and 4GB of RAM.

In terms of speed, it’s going to be a bit slower than the previous two Chromebooks, but it shouldn’t really be noticeable. Its advantage over them is the battery life, which can go up to 12 hours of use.

The Acer Chromebook R13 Convertible is priced at $359 and you can order it from Amazon.

Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga Convertible

Like most Chromebooks released lately, the Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga Convertible also features a touchscreen display and, as its name suggests, it’s convertible.

The Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga Convertible sports a 11.6″ Full HD touchscreen IPS display, a quad-core Intel N3150 processor clocked at 1.6Ghz, 4GB of RAM, and a 16GB SSD. Unfortunately it has a worse battery life of just 7 hours.

I believe it’s one of the best Chromebooks on a budget, being priced at just $229. You can order it from Amazon.

Acer Chromebook R11 Convertible

While its name is very similar to the Acer R13, there are more differences between them, not just the display size. The Acer Chromebook R11 Convertible features a 11.6-inch HD touchscreen display, an Intel Celeron N3150 processor, 4GB of RAM, and a 32GB SSD. It also has a battery life of 10 hours.

The Acer Chromebook R11 Convertible is a pretty good deal, considering it’s priced at $259 on Amazon.

Samsung Chromebook 3

The Samsung Chromebook 3 is a really low-cost option, but it comes with decent hardware, so it can make it a great tool for browsing the web and using some basic apps. It features an Intel Celeron N3050 processor, clocked at 1.6Ghz, 2GB of RAM, and a 16GB eMMC drive.

It has a 11.6″ LED backlit display and a battery life of up to 11 hours.

This might be the best budget Chromebook. You can find it on Amazon for just $179.
